Your question/comment is a very valid one.
I likewise found Andy's remarks to be annoying, exceptionally after looking at Conan do his monologue without disruption for so long. I likewise don't think he's got the best announcers voice... kinda aggressive and angry sounding. I think that they will either rework Andy's role on the show, or we will have to get used to the new format (I employed to find Paul Shaffer on Letterman so annoying that I wanted to punch him in the head, but now I just block him out.)
I think it would be much better if Andy and Conan did live and prerecorded sketches together like they used to... amusive stuff.
Keep in mind that back in the early days Andy payed his dues, and most likely helped to keep Conan on the air.
Hang in there, and recognise that others feel your pain.

Loved it!!!

I loved this documentary and looking at it made me respect Conan O'Brien even more than I already did. When the whole circumstance with NBC and Jay Leno went down, I was appalled at the unbridled greed, selfishess and utter lack of dedication on the portion of both parties. On the flip side however, I was exceedingly impressed with the way Conan O'Brien handled the situation. Rather than just take the cash and change his time slot to appease NBC and Leno's self-serving whims, he chose to stand by his principles and walk away from the circumstance entirely. He did what he believed to be the RIGHT thing rather than the easy thing. On the contrary in fact...he walked away from a show he loved after being simultaneously knifed in the back and sucker-punched by the very company and people that made him a promise 5 years earlier and then just changed their minds to accomodate their own ego=oriented, money-drieven agendas. I don't see how any person may have anything but respect for a person so more than willing to stand by their convictions even if it causes them great pain to do so. The documentary shows Conan incisively as he was at the time it was filmed - barbarically honest, hilarious, self deprecating, once in a while bitingly sarcastic, from time to time cranky and without doubt or question still reeling from the loss of his dream job, and all the while he pushes forward in an venture to recover, grow, try something new and most significantly to persevere even when it's genuinely hard and dreams have been dashed by betrayal. Conan is an sheer inspiration. Anyone who likes to see good guys triumph wil be rooting for him all the way!

Awesome behind the scenes look at COnan

I expected things to be a bit censored or sugar-coated, but this was an splendid behind-the-scenes look at Conan and his staff, for the duration of the time after just leaving the Tonight Show and for the duration of his cross country live show tour. Really well done.

Running the Gauntlet: The Movie.

Of the late night talk show hosts, Conan O'Brien's in all probability my favorite. I haven't had time to watch his show steadily for the last couple of years, but when I did, it always made me laugh out deafening at times. From his own jokes, to the characters like Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and the cactus that played "We Didn't Start the Fire" on the flute, his sense of humor genuinely appealed to me. There's no denying that what happened with The Tonight Show and him was absurd, and how he handled the circumstance made the guy even more likable...even more than when he paid his writers with his own cash for the duration of the writer's strike a few years back! Conan O'Brien Can't Stop was a movie I was going to watch no matter what, and I'll confess that I didn't read up on what it was with regards to prior to watching, so I didn't have expected values going in. Halfway through the movie, I was glad I didn't suppose anything because this was a bumpy ride.

Can't Stop follows Conan along his national tour as he goes from city to city performing shows. Most of the footage is of Conan and his friends/co-workers behind the scenes or on the road, working on new material and talking regarding how much of a pain doing the tour is. At first, everything starts out well, and while it's something new for Conan to be doing, you may tell that he loves it. That sentiment remains for the duration of his performances, but as he goes on, Conan begins to get irritated with little things like meeting family members of his co-workers, taking pictures with fans and more. To be honest, he comes off as an arrogant jerk a lot of times and it made me not like him now and then. Then again, may you actually blame him? The tour took place shortly after the Tonight Show rumble and this was something O'Brien was new to: going on tour and performing in front of big audiences while doing skits and musical numbers, rather than sitting down and interviewing guests.

My bestloved things in Can't Stop were the bits amid Conan and his writers coming up with new jokes and material for the show. His assistant Sona, is the butt of a lot of the jokes and insults, but a good sport and has a heap of decent bits as well (not to mention, she's easy on the eyes). It was surprising to go through the whole documentary with very little said regarding Jay Leno. When it did in the end come up, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting/hoping, but then again, I'm sure they left out a bit as to keep away from a lawsuit. Conan likewise opens up rather a bit on how he loves show business and interacting with the fans- agreeably diverting them. He does everything he may to support people get into the show if there's a problem, and even when he distinctly doesn't want to go out and sign autographs, he does it anyway.

But what takes a lot of the flavor out of this movie for me was how much time is expended with the musical numbers. Good god, it might as well have been a full concert special. I'm not saying the footage is bad, but it's actually just Conan and his band playing well-known songs over and over again for a good percentage of the movie. Time's even consecrated to this when he goes to a college reunion talent show and guess what, they play more music. It would've been nice to have seen a couple of full sketches from the show rather of a couple of minutes.

I'd commend renting the movie once if you're a fan of Conan, and if you end up loving it, find a good deal and buy it. It's interesting to watch and see how he copes with the feeling of annoyance at being hindered or criticized of losing the Tonight Show the way he did. When it comes down to it though, there aren't very unforgettable moments in Can't Stop, which is a shame.
