Blondie - Heart Of Glass My blondie brownies came out very tasty but very chewy -- what did I do wrong?
A few weeks ago I tried to make a lot of "blondies" for the basi time. They tasted great but came out VERY chewy -- any idea what I had too much/not sufficient of? I don't have the precise measurements anymore but I applied flour, brown sugar, vanilla extract, an egg, and a little bit of milk. I'd like to undertake again for Thanksgiving, but only if their edible. Thanks! With all baked goods, the texture is affected by how much you mix it. When puttng together the ingredients, combine everything but the flour completely, add the flour and stir until just combined. Stirring more will make the results tough and chewy. Flour holds gluten, and the more a dough or batter is worked, the stretchier the gluten becomes, like when you knead bread dough to make it chewy. hope that helps! Find Blondie Products at Amazon.com
